Father Timothy Bruce Allen Jones was ordained as a minister of Christ at Perry Christian Church, Canton, Ohio, on May 9, 1976. His spiritual journey led him to serve in pastoral ministry in the Christian Church (both independent and Disciples of Christ churches), The United Methodist Church, and the Eastern Orthodox Church. He is a professed member and priest in the Lindisfarne Community and prior of St. Cuthbert's Chapel and Priory, Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.
During the years he served as a hospice chaplain and grief counselor with Agrace Hospice and Palliative Care in Madison, Father Timothy earned certifications as a Dementia Care Specialist with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) and in thanatology with the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).
Father Timothy received a BS in English Bible from Cincinnati Christian University, an MDiv from Lexington Theological Seminary, and a Diploma in Eastern Orthodox Studies from the Antiochian House of Studies (a three-year graduate-level curriculum). He did further post-graduate work in the Doctor of Ministry program at Ashland Theological Seminary. In preparation for chaplaincy, Father Timothy completed five units in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), including a one-year residency at Unity-Point Meriter Hospital, Madison.
Now retired, Father Timothy centers on the contemplative life of prayer, study, service, and rest, and enjoys exercise, nature, reading history and theology, keeping up with current events, playing the piano, and watching Public Television. He and his wife Beatrice have three children and four grandchildren.
